Spectrum’s Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program (BFTAP) for Field Technicians, and Spectrum's partnership with Hiring Our Heroes, provides members of the military community with a powerful pathway to build rewarding careers.
Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program
Veterans can build a strong civilian career through our Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program (BFTAP). Classified as a qualified education program by the Department of Veterans Affairs, BFTAP allows eligible Spectrum Field Technicians who served in the military to receive GI Bill benefits in addition to their regular paychecks. Available to technicians with fewer than 18 months of service, the program helps employees gain hands-on experience, build new skills, and create momentum for long-term career growth, with even more opportunities to advance along the way.
The Apprenticeship Program helped me gain industry knowledge and certification, making my transition smoother. My GI Bill covered housing, so I could focus on learning and adjusting to civilian life.

Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowships
A workforce development initiative from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program provides members of the military community with hands-on, private-sector experience to help them secure meaningful civilian employment. Service members are eligible to apply for the program within 180 days of separation. Spectrum hosts several fellowship cohorts each year (12 weeks for transitioning service members, 6 weeks for military spouses).
